MMI Silver Jubilee’s Specials: Bona Fide Street Party Marked the Grand Opening of MMI Building in 2011

[27 May 2015] A new era dawned on MMI on the 18th of Nov 2011 with the Grand Opening Ceremony of MMI Building. It was a momentous and poignant day  for everyone at MMI and especially so for MMI’s Founder, Chairman/CEO Dr Chandroo. For it was a day when one of his many aspirations materialised. It was a day that reflected the rapid growth and success of a company that began in a single storey shop-house back in 1989.  It was a day when MMI owned its own building that stood tall and proud along the hustle bustle of South Bridge Road.

The atmosphere was simply awe-inspiring with over 500 well-wishers from across various industries that were there to grace the grand opening ceremony officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam. Dr Chandroo addressed the guests with his arresting speech about the journey that was filled with trials and tribulations before it could see the success accomplished.

Mr, Tharman gave a thought provoking and heartfelt speech about the growth and importance of education in Singapore, in particularly pre-school education. He also applauded MMI’s efforts in ensuring that every child receives the education that they rightfully deserve regardless of their background.

The street party then began with the crowd jam packed the whole street right in front of MMI Building. Our guests let the hair loose with free flow of drink and food and at the same time entertained by Jazz band on stage. The crowd partied till late in the night in one of the most memorable event of MMI.
